I like shopping here because we live rural but lately, the past 3 trips I've found myself putting back a substantial amount of items that are marked up almost %125 compared to other places. I want to keep supporting this place but when I see the SAME coffee I just paid $9+ for a small container of at a Dollar General in Sublette for $5.79......Among other ridiculously huge markups.....I can't do it. The pricing is litterally causing me to put needed food back and ask myself why I didn't just go to Liberal.
Very clean and organized. Decent variety of groceries. Hunt Brothers Pizza inside. Overall I had a very good experience.
It's a little better than what you would normally expect from a small town grocery store. They have all the staples and a small selection of extras. They have a A+ staff. I suggest checking dates before you buy it because they don't sell as many products as the big stores. Expect a small convenience price bump vs driving to Liberal, Garden, or Dodge. The extra that you'd pay in Plains is probably what you'd spend on gas going to the city. The beef is better than you will get at Walmart or Dillons, and competitively priced to theirs. And, the Pizza place is pretty solid. It's not winning any awards, but compared to other Hunt Brothers franchises, it's great. They do it very well.
Great little market!! Put together by the strength and sheer willpower of this wonderful community who worked tirelessly for grants and to raise money to build it! If you drive by Plains, Kansas in your travels surely you need to pick up something from this little store that most certainly has Just What You Need!!
Very clean. Smelled like pizza from the Hunt's Bros pizzeria inside. Nice little store. A little pricey, but overall a nice shopping experience.
